Bulletproof is a metaphor for the promise God has given us in 2 Peter 1:10, “be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.”

 

We have been given everything for life and godliness through our knowledge of Jesus Christ, and He has granted to us His very great promises, that through them we would become partners in His divine nature. This causes us to escape the corruption in the world because of sinful desires.

 

God gives us 7 qualities or tools to be added to our faith and when we reckon them as ours and they are increasing we become fruitful and effective. However, when we lack these qualities we become nearsighted to the point of being blinded. We forget we were cleansed from our former sin and live again in bondage.

 

Like a soldier we are given a utility belt when we surrender to God, yet we have never used or trained with these tools. We are called to learn them and put them to use. Like the bulletproof vest, when worn, we are not only protected by wearing the vest, but it gives us confidence to go into the dark and difficult places, to be the men that God has called us to be. When worn and worn properly the bulletproof vest will stop the blazing bullets and attacks of our enemy. We may be wounded, bruised, we may even receive broken  bones. However, the  vest keeps us from death, and “we will never fall.”
